Simone and George’s Wedding Cochin, India, and Canada.

Well I have been a bad blogger lately! This is the peak of the season and things tend to get crazy around here!So back in April I went to South India for a month. While I was there I had the pleasure of shooting Simone and George’swedding in beautiful Kerala, India!Simone and George live in the London, and have family and friends scattered all over the place! So they decided to have a wedding in India, and reception in Toronto for those who could not travel the distance. We started with a pre wedding day photo session at the Brunton Boatyard Hotel in Fort Cochin.(I posted a few shots a while back, incase your a regular reader of the blog you may have seen them.)the next day was the main event, which consisted of a traditional South Indian, Catholic Church wedding.A lunch reception; at the Ramada Resort where they were escorted in with a procession of Dhol Drummers.Next on the agenda; A sunset boat cruise on a  the beautiful waters of Cochin Harbour followedby a cocktail reception on a private Island at Bulgatti Palace. Here are the traditional Chinese fishing nets found all over Kerala, amazingly they are still in use today! The next morning we were all off to the Thrissur Pooram Festival.Thrissur Pooram is celebrated once a year at of the Vadakkunnathan Temple, with processions of 50 richly caparisoned elephants accompanied by percussion ensemble, and beautiful hand crafted parasols. This is one of the largest, most colorful fesitivals in India, and I was so lucky to be able to there to witness this AMAZING event.Well I don’t post many pics of myself on here but it’s not every day you’ll see me in a Dhoti!(South Indian Traditional dress for men)They are so comfortable in the heat and humidity of kerala!Fast forward 2 months;July 3; I meet up with Simone and George again for the Toronto portion of their wedding celebrations.A beautiful reception at The Grand Baccus for many family and friends who were unable to make it to India for the wedding. So that’s all I’ve got for now!George and Simone were a pleasure to photograph and I am so honored they chose me to be a part of these wonderful eventsin India and Canada.

How fun that you got to go to Cochin! I went in February and loved Kerala so much. What a gorgeous couple, and you of course did a great job with the wedding. :)
